1977 - Clydach Wasps Amateur Football Club is founded. Playing on Clydach Recreation Ground, the club brings football back to the village for the first time since the demise of Clydach Athletic. Joins the Gwent Central League.

1982 - The clubhouse is built, changing facilities previously being in the old community centre on the north side of the village with players walking to the Recreation Ground.

The story so far....
1983 - The club wins its first promotion when coming runners up in the Gwent Central second division. The committee agrees to allow players from outside the village to register without being voted into the club, allowing the formation of a second team.

1985 - The first team wins the clubs first silverware, picking up the Gwent Central Open Cup.
​
1990 - After a long wait a second trophy is won, the first tem winning the Gwent Central Langdon Cup.

1996 - After being the bridesmaids for the last few years, the club finally wins the Gwent Central Division One, and with it promotion to the Gwent County League after a dramatic final day showdown with season long rivals Fairfield United. A 2-2 draw was enough to win the title. Fairfield get their revenge in the final of the Open Cup.

1998 - The second team picks up its first trophy, the Gwent Central Benevolent Cup, after a penalty shoot-out victory over Trevethin.

1999 - The first team earns promotion to the Gwent County Second Division when coming second to Cromwell Youth.

2000 - At the first time of asking, the previous seasons roles are reversed as we pip Cromwell to the Gwent County Division Two title.

2001 - Second team player Ian Morris is voted Gwent Central Second Division player of the year. Although the club has provided players for the leagues representative team, he becomes the first Clydach player to receive this award.
2003 - The club enters the FAW Trophy for the first time, reaching the semi finals before falling 1-0 to eventual winners Rhydyfelin Zenith at Port Talbot.

2005 - The clubs finest achievement to date as the Gwent County First Division is won with a mid week victory over RTB Ebbw Vale. The club is inspected for entry to the Welsh League but is denied due to being unable to implement ground improvements to comply with league rules.

2006 - The club expands to three senior sides. Ryan Price of the second team becomes only the second player to win the Gwent Central League player of the year trophy.

2007 - The first team reaches the semi finals of the FAW Trophy for a second time, going down to an extra time defeat to Glan Conwy at Caersws. The second team tastes victory in the Gwent Central Langdon Cup with a 2-1 defeat of Govilon.

2008 - After a restructuring of the Gwent Central League, the seconds and thirds finish as champions of Divisions One and Two respectively. The second team make it a double by also claiming the Open Cup with a victory over Blaenavon Blues.

2009 - Back to back doubles are claimed by the second team with the Gwent Central Division One title is paired with a Benevolent Cup win over Govilon.

2010 - The first team reaches the final of the FAW Trophy, the first and still only time a Gwent County League team has reached this stage. Quarter Final victory over Llanharan was followed by a semi final win over Venture Community at Rhayader, before a 5-1 final defeat to Glan Conwy.
The second team make it three doubles in a row, a third league title paired with a Benevolent Cup win, only to miss out on a treble when losing an Open Cup final penalty shoot-out to Llanarth. The third team finish a creditable second place in Division Two.

2011 - The second team finish runners up in the league but win another Benevolent Cup with defeat of Blaenavon Blues. The third team also gain a second place in the league and pick up the Second Division Cup with a big win over Pontypool Town in the final. Ben Ward wins both Top Scorer and Player of the Year in Gwent Central Division Two.

2014 - After a poor season, the first team suffers the clubs first ever relegation, dropping into Gwent County Division Two.
