Pre-season Plans

With the lockdown restrictions starting to ease, we are now in a position to outline our plans to take us forward to the new season.

The latest FAW advice states that leagues are free to start from 1st July, with the first round of the FAW Trophy set for Saturday 10th July. With this in mind, it looks very likely that fixtures will start earlier this year, presumably allowing for a mid season break around Christmas. Additionally, from Monday 17th May, the number of people allowed to attend organised outdoor sport raises from 30 to 50. With indoor areas of bars and pubs also being allowed to open from that date, we are taking this as the starting point to get back to some sort of normality.

We will begin preseason training in earnest on Tuesday 18th May, one session a week to start, with friendly fixtures taking place in June, ready for a potential July start. The relevant dates are set out below:

Tuesday 18th May (and following Tuesdays) - Training

Thursday 3rd June - F.C. Tredegar v Firsts

Wednesday 9th June - Seconds v Forgeside

Saturday 10th July - FAW Trophy round one

Further friendly fixtures are being arranged and will hopefully be finalised later this week, whilst other relevant dates will be relayed as they are announced.
